Staff in our Yorkshire and East Midlands region were celebrating recently after the latest Ofsted inspection judged the service to be 'Good' overall, and highlighted many areas of first class practice especially in terms of children's wellbeing and support for foster carers and families.

This was a fun-filled family event which brought people together and enabled them to share a day out… and of course a lot of chocolate. It was thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended.

It’s that time of year again and the return of the FFC Summer BBQ, but this time at our new Top Barn offices. As the weather was on our side this year, it was another fantastic day for the children, carers and staff with fun filled activities and delicious food.

Family Fostercare are launching a lending library of therapeutic books for our looked-after children, foster carers and foster families across all our offices around the country to use and enjoy.

It's #FCF17 Fostercare Fortnight which is all the excuse we need to ramble on about some of the different aspects of fostering and of becoming a foster carer.

Skye, one of our foster children in the West Midlands, was recently presented with a brand new iPad Air 2 for winning an internet safety themed competition organised by Guardian Saints and sponsored by BT to celebrate Internet Safety Day.

The West Midlands region’s 3rd Children’s Council took place on Thursday 1st June with 6 children aged between 12 – 15 in attendance. As a reward for their hard work and feedback the group moved on to let off a bit of steam at Ice Quest laser quest centre!

It’s not the first time the SnapChat instant messaging app has hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons, but its latest feature upgrade Snap Maps is giving foster carers and anyone involved in safeguarding vulnerable children extreme cause for concern.

In the first event of an action packed summer activity line-up, children from our Worcester and Dudley offices visited Blackwell Adventure Centre for some good old-fashioned outdoor fun.

For our latest summer adventure, foster families from FFC Dudley and Worcester tried their hands - well, their feet actually - at a spot of Footgolf. (Yes, it is actually a thing!)

There was a fantastic turn out for our Summer BBQ at Beech Bank again this year, and even the sun made a welcome appearance just in time to ensure the children could really make the most of all the fun outdoor activities lined up for them.

The summer holiday activities for our children in Worcester and Dudley with a horse riding lesson at Cobbles Academy in Dudley.
