There was a fantastic turn out for our Summer BBQ at Beech Bank again this year, and even the sun made a welcome appearance just in time to ensure the children could really make the most of all the fun outdoor activities lined up for them.

There was a fantastic turn out for our Summer BBQ at Beech Bank again this year, and even the sun made a welcome appearance just in time to ensure the children could really make the most of all the fun outdoor activities lined up for them.

Just shy of 50 foster carers, children and staff gathered at our Beech Bank office in Worcester on the afternoon of 9th August for the annual BBQ event. While Granville did the honours getting the barbie fired up, children and adults alike enjoyed having a go at the Fairground themed activities scattered around the grounds.

There was a good variety of fun fair favourites provided by local entertainment hire company BBC Inflatables, with something for everyone. For those with nerves of steel and a steady hand there was “Beat the Bleep”…

Whilst “Splat the Rat” was a favourite with the kids and grown-ups who needed to let of a bit of school summer holidays steam (so, everyone then!)…

Of course it wouldn’t be a Family Fostercare garden party without Sally, our regular face-painter on hand to decorate our young guests with her colourful and intricate designs. As always, Sally was kept busy for the entire afternoon as everyone wanted to be painted!

Granville excelled himself again this year with his BBQ duties, slaving away over the hot grill and turning out a seemingly endless supply of beautifully cooked sausages, chicken pieces and burgers. And oh did we have burgers! One of our foster carers, Dean, very generously brought in 50 delicious homemade burgers which were devoured in seconds, leaving everyone begging for the recipe. In fact, we think it was the burgers that were responsible for the high turnout this year, so thank you very much again Dean!

As ever, our summer BBQ 2017 was a lovely, relaxed family afternoon where existing friendships were strengthened and new friendships forged, and Family Fostercare’s core ethos of ‘fostering with a family feel’ was very much brought to life. Thank you to everyone who came along for making it such a special afternoon.

More snaps than we know what to do with, so we rolled them up into a little slideshow for your delight! Enjoy!
