Children at our Doncaster office were flexing their creative muscles during the Easter break at a fun Art & Crafts day at the office, where foster carers were free to join in with the messy fun, or stay and relax at a distance with a coffee, or even just 'Drop and Shop!'.
The theme for the day was of course Easter, and the children were set the task of using the raft of crafting materials – paints, glitter (of course!), card, paper, pens, feathers, stickers, sequins and more glitter – to make the most imaginative and fabulous Easter creation they could!
There was a lovely, relaxed and warm atmosphere to the day, with wonderful team work from the older children as they played a key role in helping the younger ones with their creations. We all enjoyed listening and singing along to music which seemed to really help with the creative process, and blowing up balloons, playing some games and snacking helped pass the time while we were waiting for the art to dry.
Lindsey, the manager of the building where our Doncaster office is located, very kindly agreed to judge the creations and choose the winners and runners up in the girls’ and boys’ categories. Our winning girl received a splendid art kit and our first place in the boys’ category received a magic kit, and the runners up were presented with trophies and medals.
The children all really enjoyed the day, we all spend some quality time together, and our foster carers were delighted to give the children the opportunity to get stuck into some messy creative play without having to face the clearing up afterwards! A result all round!
