Foster families and staff from our Cumbria office braved the maze at Lakeland Maze Farm Park on a fun family day out on 15th August this year, and luckily, everyone made it out again too (phew!)
Each year at the Farm Park in Kendal, Cumbria, a new maze is designed to challenge visitors and this year, much to most of the children’s delight, the theme was Star Wars. Not that you would especially notice the design once you are in the maze, surrounded by 8 or 9 foot tall stalks of maize as far as your eye can see! Everyone was quite surprised at how disorientating it felt, and we were all delighted to have eventually made it out again without resorting to using the emergency flag (well, that’s our story anyway, and we’re sticking to it!)
After the maze and a picnic lunch we visited the animal barn where we all had the chance to get up close with the animals and even take some ferrets for a walk! Then the children took in all the rest of the attractions the Farm Park had to offer. They enjoyed tractor rides around the farm, riding the go karts and Didi cars, cavorting around the indoor and outdoor play areas, zipping down wires, bouncing on the trampolines and bouncy slides and messing about in the sandpit.
We left the park at the end of the day with a lot of rosy-cheeked, happy and worn out children, which always makes for happy foster carers! A perfect summer day trip.
