I joined Family Fostercare in February 2015, having worked the previous 7 years at an Independent Fostering Agency in the South East of England. I started as a student on placement during my Social Work MA and worked my way up to a senior level. Working in a socially deprived area and receiving placements from London Boroughs, I have gained a wealth of experience in the complex work surrounding foster care with some of the most vulnerable children. I have experience in assessing, training and supporting foster carers as well as managing challenging behaviour and conflict resolution.

Prior to this I completed my Psychology Degree and spent time working in residential settings with adults and children with learning disabilities. One of my roles involved supporting adults as they worked on a farm and in a cafe, providing them with more independence. I have enjoyed all of the work that I have done across the different care sectors but most of all I get a buzz from the challenges of working in a fostering agency, where every day can be so varied.

I have relocated back to Cumbria and I look forward to rediscovering the beautiful county I grew up in. I can draw upon my academic knowledge and practical work experience to bring another set of skills to the great team at Family Fostercare.
